This lesson explains how to create and customize shape elements.
Shape elements work similarly to graphic elements in that they are visible parts of the app, but shape elements can be created and customized in the builder, without the use of image editing software. A shape element can be a rectangle, rounded rectangle, triangle, pentagon, oval, or line. You can customize the color, outline, and size of these elements to match the style of your app.
1. Name Your Element
When you click on a shape element, the property sheet is displayed. The first option allows you to specify the element name. This is true for all element types. You can rename your element at any time by clicking this field.
2. Select the Type of Shape
Select the type of shape you want to use. A shape element can be a rectangle, rounded rectangle, triangle, pentagon, oval, or line.
3. Rotate the Shape
Use the Transform feature to rotate the shape.
4. Resize and Position the Element
Change the size and position of the shape by dragging the shape from the center, pulling the white squares on the corners, or changing the values in the element's Info tab.
4. Customize the Appearance of the Shape
Each shape includes a series of appearance options, which you can access through the element's Shape tab. For example, you can change the color and width of the outline, select the color of the inside of the shape, resize the rounded corners of a rounded rectangle, and add arrows to line shapes.
